A Day of Filipino Art, Dance and Music Comes to Princeton, NJ.
Princeton, NJ (PRWeb), April 7, 2007 -- On Saturday April 7, 2007 in Princeton, NJ, WEB OF COMPASSION presents DIWA NG UGNAYAN (Essence of Connections), a fund raiser for the victims of devastating typhoons in the Philippines presented as a day long celebration of Philippine art, music, and dance. Admission tickets of $50.00/person ($40.00 for seniors/students) $10.00 (7-12 years old) and free under 7, entitles individuals to raffles for paintings. Light refreshments will be provided.
In December 2006 the people of Legaspi City in the province of Albay, Philippines treacherously felt the impact of three super typhoons (Reming, Milenyo and Durian), and a volcanic mudslide from the fury of Mayon Volcano. These devastating events killed over three thousand people, buried three towns to wasteland, and flooded the entire city with ten feet of raging waters which destroyed their homes.
WEB OF COMPASSION is an organization founded by Grace Asagra Stanley, a Critical Care Nurse and Holistic Nurse, who is a native of Legaspi City and is presently residing at Princeton. The Arts Council of Princeton and the Nurses for International Outreach will co-sponsor the fund raiser which will provide needed help to the victims of this disaster.
Net proceeds will be given to Diwa ng Ugnayan, an authentic foundation created by the victims themselves with the intention of collaborating resources for the restoration of livelihood, education and health as they reach for connections through loving kindness and compassion.
